Overview

Product variants allow you to group different versions of the same item—such as different sizes, colors, or materials—under a single Product. Each variant has its own unique SKU and EAN, but shares common information with the main product.

Using variants helps keep your catalog organized and makes it easier for customers to find exactly what they are looking for.

Steps

Creating Variants with a Template

The easiest way to create multiple variants at once is by using a Variant Template.

1. Open **Products** from the main menu.
2. Select the main product you want to add variants to.
3. Click the **Wizards** button in the top toolbar.
4. Choose **Use Variant Template** from the list.
5. Select the attributes you want to use (e.g., Color and Size).
6. Enter the values for each attribute (e.g., Red, Blue; S, M, L).
7. Click **Generate Variants** to create all combinations.

Manually Adding a Variant

If you only need to add one specific version, you can do it manually.

1. Open the main product details.
2. Go to the **Variants** tab.
3. Click the **Add Variant** button.
4. Fill in the unique identifiers like **SKU** and **EAN**.
5. Set the variant-specific attributes (e.g., set Color to "Green").
6. Click **Save**.

Mass Updating Variant Prices

You can update prices for all variants of a product (or multiple products) at once using the Mass Update tool.

1. In the **Products** grid, select the variants you want to update.
2. Click the **Mass Update** button in the action bar.
3. Select the **Price** field.
4. Enter the new price or use a formula (e.g., `price * 1.1` to increase by 10%).
5. Click **Run Mass Update**.

**Tip:** Use the `productMaster_id` filter to quickly find all variants belonging to a specific main product.
